AFCAT 2017 Eligibility Branch Wise

Flying Branch

Qualification : Applicants should have Graduation and have passed Maths and Physics as subject at 10+2 level Or having B.E/ B.Tech.

Aggregate Marks : 60% for All Category.

Age Limit : 20-24 years

Height and Weight : Minimum 162.5 cms, Leg Length: Min – 99 cms, Max – 120 cms. Thigh Length : Max – 64 cms, Sitting

Ground Duty (Technical)

Qualification : Applicants should have Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four year degree graduation/integrated post- graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognised University or cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.

Aggregate Marks : 60% for All Category.

Age Limit : 20-26 years

Height and Weight : For Men 157.5 cms. For women candidates minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.

Ground Duty (Nontechnical)

Qualification : Applicants should have Graduate Degree (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline Or  equivalent or cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership.

How to Select Officers through AFCAT 2017

Candidates who are apply for AFCAT-01 2017 may called for AFCAT and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). The Exam will held on Sunday, February 26, 2017. Candidates who are short-listed on the basis of AFCAT/EKT will be called for further testing i.e. Intelligence Test, Psychological, Group Tests and Interview as well PSS (Computerized Pilot Selection System) and/ or PABT only for Flying branch.

AFCAT Salary Rupees

Pay in Pay Band (Common to all Branches) – Rs 15,600 Per Month ( The officer will be placed in PB 3 – 15600-39100)

  • Grade Pay :- Rs 5400 PM.
  • Military Service Pay :- Rs 6000 PM.
  • Dearness Allowance @ 125 percent :- Rs 33750 PM.
  • Kit Maintenance Allowance :- Rs 600 PM.
  • Transport Allowance :- Rs 3200 + DA ( major cities) / 1600 + DA ( Other cities).

AFCAT-01/2017 Exam Pattern with Syllabus

AFCAT Recruitment exam consists of five parts –

  • Verbal Ability,

  • General Awareness and Military Aptitude

AFCAT Recruitment exam will follow an objective-type (multiple choice question) format. The AFCAT will be of two hours duration. EKT would be for 45 minutes and conducted immediately after AFCAT. It is mandatory for the candidates opting for ground duty (technical) branch to pass both AFCAT & EKT.
